This one is a classic and always goes in our sets, near the end as people get brave enough to sing along.

"I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)" is an icon dance-pop song released in May 1987 on Arista Records and was the first single from Whitney's second studio album "Whitney". The track was written by George Merrill and Shannon Rubicam who also wrote her earlier hit "How Will I Know" and produced by Narada Michael Walden.

The song peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US becoming Houston's fourth number-one single. It hit number three in the UK and also number one in a list of other countries around the world.

"I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)" was nominated for two Grammy Awards and won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Female Video and was the theme song for the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea.

In 2009, the Library of Congress added the song to the National Recording Registry, meaning that it is now preserved as an important part of American culture.
